What Business Can Learn from Nonprofits Peter F. Drucker

As a rule, nonprofits are more money-conscious than business enterprises are. They talk and worry about money much of the time because it is so hard to raise and because they always have so much less of it than they need. But nonprofits do not base their strategy on money, nor do they make it the center of their plans, as so many corporate executives do.

What do these unpaid staff people themselves demand? What makes them stay—and, of
course, they can leave at any time. Their first and most important demand is that the
nonprofit have a clear mission, one that drives everything the organization does. A
senior vice president in a large regional bank has two small children. Yet she just took
over as chair of the state chapter of Nature Conservancy, which finds, buys, and
manages endangered natural ecologies. “I love my job,” she said, when I asked her why
she took on such heavy additional work, “and of course the bank has a creed. But it
doesn’t really know what it contributes. At Nature Conservancy, I know what I am here
for.”

Readings

Was quite a bit more reader of Chanakya. Found it that he has teached a much more of bit of a behavioral know how through his Shastra. Although, for a clear minded person it is enough to do what he thinks in alignment. Teaching link self to society more than in reverse order. That’s why he left the kingdom at last for gaining peace and completing his search. Rather than full alignment of his teachings at the same place –in the kingdom.

WORLD AND ITS MISERIES

If there is war between two countries for one region than the solution is unifying both the countries together and have the shared values. Yes, it seems impossible but it needs a moral spiritual forces along with the other unifying powers of the universe. But, one thing is sure it is historical. Both have to share their strength or either one has to be responsible enough to hold the other ones hand firmly. Its like a marriage tie between two families. Both must accept each other via an inner link of will.

Self-less service

By selflessness a worldly man aligns his mental channels to the divine and make his various worldly thoughts and actions combine with the divine. Because selflessness is nothing more than a distiller that makes polluted water purified in its original, pure, un -adulterated form. One can see divine through it in every action and thought and even in a word or wordless (deed/silence).

How much you grow does not matter!

At times conditions arises that, there appears many kings, many masters are there –how will you know the real one is. The fittest survives then. The master is the fittest, the most advanced one. He can come out of any merry-go-round (the puzzle). Or the one chosen by the master alone survives.

SOME COLLECTED THOUGHTS ON CHARACTER & CHARACTER BUILDING

It has proved to the world that holiness, purity and charity are not the exclusive possessions of any church in the world, and that every system has produced men and women of the most exalted character. As pleasure and pain pass before his soul they have upon it different pictures, and the result of theseContinue reading “SOME COLLECTED THOUGHTS ON CHARACTER & CHARACTER BUILDING”
